Events are back and we're excited to celebrate. Our first event of 2021 was a festive donor appreciation party at Ottimo in June. Most recently, we had a beautiful fundraising luncheon at the Spottswoode Estate in St. Helena.
Saturday at Spottswoode!
In early October 2021, NMRF Director, Beth Novak Milliken hosted a fundraiser at her family’s beautiful Spottswoode Estate in St. Helena to raise critical funds and broaden awareness for the Foundation. The day began with poolside appetizers and 2020 Spottswoode Sauvignon Blanc followed by a gracious welcome from Beth, who gave a brief history of her family estate and thanked everyone for their support. Dr. Marko Bodor presented current research updates and introduced a few of his patients who gave testimonies of how regenerative orthopedics have dramatically improved their lives.
Upon conclusion of the inspiring testimonies by patients Oliver Starr, Kristi Ebong and Vicente Saldivar, guests enjoyed a three-course lunch prepared by Chef Anne Panchesson paired with 2016 Mary’s Block Sauvignon Blanc and 2017 Spottswoode Estate Cabernet Sauvignon.
The festivities included a fundraising competition with everyone at the winning table receiving a magnum of Spottswoode wine. The Foundation is deeply grateful to Beth Novak Milliken, the Spottswoode team and all those who attended the event for their generosity and support.

Donor Appreciation Event 2021
The Napa Medical Research Foundation celebrated its supporters at their donor appreciation event hosted by Chef Michael Chiarello at Ottimo in Yountville on June 17, 2021. Seeing one another in person and sharing healing experiences, thanks to Dr. Marko Bodor’s regenerative medical expertise, made the evening especially memorable.
Along with reconnecting with friends and enjoying exceptional food and wine, updates on the NMRF’s work were shared. Director of Research, Dr. Marko Bodor, spoke of growing up in Croatia and how running track in his youth gave him a fascination with muscles and movement, which led him to his specialty in medical research and a desire to find better solutions for orthopedic and neurologic problems.

He went on to speak of his passion for discovering new methods to replace invasive surgery, using the body’s natural ability to repair itself. Many of us have benefitted from his research and his unique procedures, and we recognize that we are extremely fortunate to have this excellent and leading-edge care available to us here in Napa Valley. This is possible because of the work of the Foundation.
Thank you for gathering to celebrate our joint commitment to wellness.
